Highlights: This was the first episode ever so all they did was play a self-introduction game and sing a lot of songs. I used to always think Kusano seemed like a big meanie, and watching this episode again after so many years made me remember why I always thought that! Jin & Kame appear as Chinese dancing dragons and later Jin & Koki gaze lovingly at the teeny tiny little Jr who got to sing a line of Ya-Ya-yah's song.

(I never knew they were a couple! Can I make up a name for this couple, seeing as that seems to be what fangirls do. I choose "Shoono" because it is such a funny looking name and makes me laugh!) Also Jin, Kame & Koki are on the problem corner and discuss how no one can ever remember the name "KAT-TUN."

Kusano adds extra flavor to his pictures, while naturally Taiyo's pictures are bad! There is a long Live Stage part where they sing songs to cheer on kids sitting their exams. Yabu is so little in this that he's never sat an exam before! *Squeezes his chubby little cheeks & pouts about why he had to grow up* At the end Shoon does a pretty good impersonation of Taiyo too!

Oh, and I like the Akame photo they take too - ah, for the good old days when they were best friends again...

Highlights: They play a true-false quiz where they have to dive through gates according to their answers and end up in a plie of flour if they get it incorrect. Shige fails beautifully in this episode. Firstly they more or less cut his part of the game, then later he goes into the audience to ask questions, but manages to laugh stupidly *hee hee hee* and then insult one girl (and when he tries to make up for that, he manages to sound even stupider!) The NEWS members (or K.K.Kity as they were known at this time) sing a medley of cool old Johnnys songs. In the talk segment, Kusano tries to say he'll cut a dumpling into 4 parts, but even the audience knows that he's lying! Meanwhile, Koyama gets worked up about the bad side of Japanese peoples' personalities.

Highlights: Koyama, Kusano & Jin spend the entire time trying to get the cameramen to film them. They play a tug-of-war game where Koyama slacks off, then the acrobatic kids get to do diving jumps into the pool. There's a medley of songs and you get to see Akame being Akame instead of ignoring each other as we get to see these days. They also show Ya-Ya-yah rehearsing for their first ever theater show. Hikaru looked so nervous!

Murakami is a big meanie unkindly calls Shige slow at swimming, while Jin can't stop yelling "Good luck!" to his team during their relay battle where Kusano fails badly at trying to row a boat. And I remember watching this on TV back in 2003 when it first aired and thinking "Oh, maybe Arashi aren't so nice after all" after seeing how useless they were around their Jrs.

And Shige says "Nishikido's the best!" as each of the NEWS members try to compliment the Kanjani8ers.

"Ya-Ya-yah!" (2 Nov, 2003) Is that a crime? Johnny's Law Quiz [full episode]

Summary: This episode is about the members being divided into 4 teams and answering questions about whether certain actions would be considered crimes or not. The questions are funny - eg. Koyama is in love with Ya-Ya-yah's Yabu, and tells Kusano. Then Kusano goes and blabs about it to everyone! In another question, Kusano has a crush on Shige and so he goes and secretly licks Shige's ...... (you'll have to watch to find out!) There is also a part about the concert NEWS did in Taiwan and it shows them singing “NEWS Nippon.”
